Esperanza International is dedicated to working in partnership with less fortunate families and communities to develop programs that meet many basic needs, while promoting self sustainability. Volunteers of various numbers come from all across the country to work side-by side with families in building their home. These are families that until then could only dream and hope for a better life. You can make that dream and hope a reality. Need to brush up that Spanish 101, this is the perfect opportunity!
Esperanza House Building - You can volunteer to change a life forever and it could possibly include your own. Esperanza International does not just build houses, but empowers the poor to help themselves onto a path leading toward self sufficiency. You can volunteer with a group for 3-10 days or as an individual for a six-months commitment.
Esperanza Health Center - This center provides primary health care services to the communities that Esperanza works with.
Esperanza Microcredit Programs - These programs promote self sufficiency and financial sustainability by providing small low interest loans to extremely impoverished individuals who desire to start a new business or expand an existing business. These small, but critical loans empower those individuals to help themselves and their families.
Esperanza Social Service Programs- These programs offer education and training for future community medical social workers, the Promoters. Presently, the Promoters have established community outreach programs focusing on children’s and women’s health. Additionally, Promoters go out into communities and train families in recycling, water conservation and the correct handling of household toxins. The trained social workers also provide family and financial counseling services.
The above highlighted programs and projects exemplify Esperanza International’s core philosophy of assisting individuals and communities that have the potential for becoming self-sustaining. By working shoulder-to-shoulder with those in need, Esperanza International has successfully forged long lasting relationships based on mutual respect and responsibility.
